Dreaming under anesthesia: a new hope for PTSD?

NCT ID NCT06577636

Summary

This Stanford study is testing whether intentionally inducing dreams while under light anesthesia can help reduce the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In this Phase 2 trial, 42 adults with PTSD will be randomly assigned to receive either a deep sedation designed to cause dreams or a light sedation without dreams. Researchers will then compare changes in PTSD symptoms between the two groups over several months.
