Ancient grain may offer relief for Wheat-Sensitive patients

NCT ID NCT06191432

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether an ancient type of wheat (Triticum monococcum) causes fewer symptoms than modern wheat in people with non-celiac wheat sensitivity. About 68 adults who already follow a wheat-free diet will try both wheats in a blinded crossover design. Researchers will also search for blood and immune markers to help diagnose the condition.
