First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at how vision gets worse over time in people with geographic atrophy, an advanced form of dry age-related macular degeneration. Researchers used past medical records and eye scans from 60 patients to see which changes in the retina are linked to faster vision loss. No new treatments were tested; the goal was simply to better understand the disease.
