New pain monitor could cut morphine use in obesity surgery

Summary
This study tested a device called ANI to measure pain during weight-loss surgery in 15 adults with obesity. The goal was to see if using the monitor could reduce the amount of morphine needed during the operation. Results may help improve pain control and reduce side effects from painkillers.
