NCT ID NCT07296237

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This observational study follows 80 women treated with chemoradiotherapy for anal cancer to understand how radiation affects their vaginal and sexual health. Participants will have a gynecological exam, complete questionnaires about quality of life and sexual health, and allow researchers to analyze their radiation scans. The goal is to link radiation dose to vaginal problems and improve future support for patients.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help doctors better prevent, detect, and treat vaginal and sexual problems after radiotherapy, improving quality of life for future patients.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to all women. It does not test a new treatment, so it won't directly change care yet.
