Dental implant bone loss: which membrane heals better?

NCT ID NCT07032259

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two barrier materials used in surgery to repair bone loss around dental implants: a membrane made from donated birth tissue (amnion-chorion) and a standard collagen membrane. Fifty-six adults with peri-implantitis (infection and bone loss around an implant) will receive one of the two membranes during guided bone regeneration. The goal is to see which material reduces pocket depth and fills in bone better, and how patients feel after surgery.
