Antibiotic combo tested to fight deadly infections in cancer patients
NCT ID NCT05045963
Summary
This study looked back at medical records to see if adding a specific type of antibiotic (aminoglycoside) to standard treatment helps cancer patients with a severe blood infection (sepsis) recover their blood pressure faster. It involved 232 adult cancer patients who developed sepsis and low blood pressure. Researchers compared patients who received the standard antibiotic alone to those who received the standard antibiotic plus the additional aminoglycoside.
