First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving amino acids through the dialysis machine can protect the heart and blood vessels in people with kidney failure. About 120 adults on dialysis will receive either amino acids or a placebo twice a week for 12 months, then be followed for 6 more months. Researchers will check survival, heart health, and side effects to see if this simple addition can improve outcomes.
