Summary

This phase 2 trial tests whether an experimental drug called XBD173 can improve blood flow in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease. What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

XBD173 (an experimental drug taken orally)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a new way to improve blood flow in the brain for people with Alzheimer's, potentially slowing memory decline.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase trial testing a short-term effect on a biomarker (blood flow), not on memory or daily function. The drug may not show benefit or could have side effects.
