New technique may save jawbone after tooth pull
NCT ID NCT07231874
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether placing a thin bone layer (cortical lamina) over the extraction site helps preserve the jawbone's width and height. Forty adults needing a tooth pulled were randomly assigned to get the lamina or standard care. After six months, 3D scans measured bone changes. The goal is to reduce bone loss for better future dental implants.
