First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study compared two types of skin grafts (Alloderm and Dermacell) used in immediate breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Researchers wanted to see if the less expensive Dermacell was as safe and effective as the more costly Alloderm. The trial involved 62 women and looked at complications like infection, fluid buildup, implant loss, and the need for additional surgery.
