New hope for tough leukemia cases: gentler treatment trial opens for elderly
NCT ID NCT01371630
Summary
This study is testing a combination of a targeted cancer drug (inotuzumab ozogamicin) with lower-intensity chemotherapy and immunotherapy for adults with a type of blood cancer called acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). It focuses on patients aged 60 and older, or younger adults who are not fit enough for standard high-dose chemotherapy. The main goals are to find the safest dose and see how well this gentler approach works to control the cancer.
