Summary
This study tested two add-on treatments for people with severe GERD who were already taking standard acid-reducing medication (PPIs). Researchers compared alginate (made from seaweed) and sucralfate (a protective ulcer drug) to see which better improved symptoms and quality of life. A total of 140 adults took part, and the study is now complete.
