First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested a device that shines a special light on the throat to treat obstructive sleep apnea. 35 adults with sleep apnea received six 12-minute light treatments over three weeks. Researchers measured if the number of breathing pauses during sleep decreased and if throat tissue shrank. The goal was to see if this painless, non-invasive approach could improve sleep quality.
