NCT ID NCT03202940

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether combining two targeted drugs, alectinib and cobimetinib, can safely treat advanced ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer. Researchers will first find the best dose with acceptable side effects, then measure how often tumors shrink. The trial enrolls 16 adults whose cancer has spread and carries the ALK gene change.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

alectinib and cobimetinib

What this could lead to

If this combination works, it could offer a new treatment option for people with ALK-positive lung cancer whose disease has stopped responding to standard therapy.

What could go wrong

This is an early-phase trial with only 16 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination may cause side effects or fail to shrink tumors.
