Summary

This pilot study looks at whether reducing alcohol and taking probiotics can boost memory and brain function in healthy older adults (ages 65-84) who drink heavily. Participants will get counseling to cut back on drinking and will take either a probiotic or a placebo pill. The study measures changes in thinking skills and brain energy use over time.
