Can cutting back on drinking and a gut boost sharpen the aging brain?

NCT ID NCT07415707

Summary

This small pilot study is exploring whether a combination of counseling to reduce alcohol use and taking a probiotic supplement can improve thinking skills and brain metabolism in older adults who are heavy drinkers. Researchers will measure changes in memory, attention, and how the brain uses energy. The goal is to see if these lifestyle changes can help protect brain health as people age.
