New approach tested to curb drinking in people living with HIV
NCT ID NCT06006143
Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether a combination of an existing medication and counseling from a pharmacist is a practical and acceptable way to help people with HIV reduce their alcohol use. The 12-week program is being offered to 30 veterans in Atlanta who have HIV and drink alcohol. Researchers want to see if participants find the program helpful and safe, and if it leads to less drinking.
