Can a computer nudge and extra help get more people into alcohol treatment?

NCT ID NCT05492942

Summary

This study tested whether adding special tools to a hospital's computer system, along with extra support staff, could help doctors better identify and treat patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD). Researchers compared four different combinations of computer alerts and staff support to see which one was most effective at getting patients to start and stay in treatment. The goal was to find practical ways to connect more people with the care they need for this common and serious condition.
