New AI tool aims to spot kidney danger in sick kids earlier
NCT ID NCT06804200
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether a computer algorithm can accurately predict acute kidney injury (AKI) in children admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Researchers will enroll 800 children aged 1 month to 18 years and compare the tool's predictions to actual kidney function changes. The goal is to see if the tool can detect AKI earlier and more reliably than current methods, without interfering with the care the child receives.
