Summary
This study follows adults who had a severe form of acute kidney injury (AKI) during a hospital stay. Researchers will use non-invasive tests to measure body composition and kidney size, and review medication plans. Participants will also be contacted by phone at 90 days and 12 months to assess their awareness of the condition, health literacy, and kidney function. The goal is to see if this comprehensive follow-up approach is linked to better patient understanding and long-term outcomes.
