New cholesterol drug candidate tested in healthy volunteers
NCT ID NCT07655960
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial tests a new drug called AJU-C716 against a reference drug (C716R) in 41 healthy adults aged 19 to 55. The goal is to see how safe the drug is and how the body processes it. This study does not test if the drug works for high cholesterol—it only looks at safety and drug levels in the blood.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AJU-C716 (test drug) and C716R (reference drug)
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 study in healthy volunteers, not patients. It only checks safety and drug levels, not whether the drug works for cholesterol. Many early-stage drugs fail to show benefit later.
