Summary

This study looks at whether taking macaúba oil supplements while doing outdoor exercise can improve how the body burns fat and handles mental stress. Researchers will enroll 60 physically active adults aged 35 to 59 who are overweight but not obese. Participants will take either macaúba oil or placebo capsules and run 5 kilometers outdoors four times a week for 8 weeks. The team will measure changes in cholesterol, blood sugar, fat levels, and stress markers before and after the program.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
macaúba oil as a dietary supplement, plus supervised outdoor exercise
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a natural supplement and exercise routine that helps manage cholesterol, blood sugar, and stress in active adults.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. Results may not apply to everyone, and the supplement's effects on fat burning and stress are still uncertain.
