Can an AI app help MS patients get stronger at home?
NCT ID NCT06871072
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This completed study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) app could help people with multiple sclerosis (MS) improve their strength through home-based exercise. Fifty-eight adults with MS followed a 20-week strength training program, with one group using the AI app for guidance and feedback, and the other using paper instructions and videos. The goal was to see if the AI approach could boost strength, mobility, and quality of life more than the conventional method.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AI-powered telerehabilitation app (RehBody) for strength training
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a convenient, AI-guided way for people with MS to improve strength and quality of life from home.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial (58 participants) with no phase designation, so results may not apply broadly. The AI app's benefits over conventional methods are uncertain.
