AI reads ultrasound to spot hidden uterine cancer
NCT ID NCT06365905
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study explores whether an artificial intelligence (AI) program can accurately identify endometrial cancer or precancerous changes by analyzing standard transvaginal ultrasound images. Researchers will compare the AI's predictions with results from endometrial biopsies in 300 postmenopausal women who have experienced bleeding. If the AI proves reliable, it could become a faster, less invasive way to screen for this cancer.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this AI tool could offer a non-invasive, quick way to screen for endometrial cancer, reducing the need for biopsies.
What could go wrong
The AI is still being tested against standard biopsy results, and its accuracy may not be high enough to replace current methods. The study is observational and does not change treatment.
