Your phone could soon help diagnose heart and leg artery disease

NCT ID NCT02932176

Summary

This study is developing a smartphone app that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help doctors interpret sounds from a handheld artery 'stethoscope'. Researchers will collect sound recordings from 180 patients who need routine artery testing and compare the AI's analysis to standard test results. The goal is to create a tool that makes diagnosis faster and more accurate, especially for doctors who haven't had specialized training with these devices.
