First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether AI-assisted ultrasound devices can help frontline health workers in rural Ethiopia detect pregnancy problems early. About 1,059 pregnant women will be split into three groups: two using different AI ultrasound tools and one receiving standard care without ultrasound. The goal is to see if AI can reduce deaths and complications for mothers and newborns in areas with limited access to medical imaging.
