AI-Powered question lists could help blood cancer patients get more from doctor visits

NCT ID NCT07226934

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether an AI-generated personalized question prompt list (GPT-QPL) can help people with lymphoma or multiple myeloma ask more useful questions during their outpatient appointments. Researchers will create tailored question lists for 40 patients using ChatGPT, then measure changes in how confident patients feel communicating with their doctors and how satisfied they are with the information they receive. The goal is to see if this simple AI tool is feasible and helpful for improving patient-doctor communication.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

GPT-QPL (AI-generated personalized question prompt list)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could give patients a simple tool to get more useful information from their doctors and feel more in control of their care.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early feasibility study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The AI tool may not be helpful or easy to use for all patients.
