AI spots overdose risk, nudges doctors to act
NCT ID NCT06806163
Summary
This study tests whether a computer alert system can help doctors prevent opioid overdoses. A machine-learning model identifies patients at high risk, and then the system sends reminders to doctors about safer prescribing practices. The goal is to see if these alerts lead to fewer dangerous prescriptions and lower overdose risk for 1,350 patients.
