Teaching computers to read your Brain's distress signals

NCT ID NCT03919370

Summary

This study aimed to teach a computer program how to recognize when the brain isn't getting enough blood. Researchers monitored 60 patients during planned surgeries where blood flow to the brain was briefly reduced. They used non-invasive devices to track heart rate, brain oxygen levels, and brain waves, and took blood samples to look for specific proteins. The goal was to gather data so artificial intelligence could learn the patterns that signal this type of brain stress.
