First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested whether an artificial intelligence system could detect mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease by analyzing simple self-figure drawings. Over 3,400 older adults drew themselves on paper, and the AI was trained to spot differences between healthy individuals and those with memory problems. The goal is to create a quick, non-invasive screening tool that could be used by general practitioners without expensive tests.
