Can AI help keep your mind sharp? new trial tests digital coach for memory decline
NCT ID NCT07474038
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a 12-month program combining telehealth sessions with daily AI-guided brain exercises can help older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) maintain or improve their memory and thinking skills. 130 participants will be randomly assigned to either the AI program or usual care. The main goal is to see if the AI group shows better cognitive scores after 6 months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AI-supported cognitive rehabilitation program
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a practical, home-based way to slow cognitive decline and improve daily function in people with mild cognitive impairment.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial (130 participants) testing a behavioral intervention, not a drug. Results may not apply to everyone, and the AI component may not add significant benefit over usual care.
