First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether an artificial intelligence (AI) software called qXR can help doctors find lung cancer earlier by prioritizing chest X-rays that show suspicious signs. Researchers will compare how quickly patients get follow-up CT scans when AI is used versus standard care. The study involves 60,000 adults in Scotland and also checks if the tool is cost-effective and acceptable to staff.
