AI checks nerve blocks in heart surgery: better pain control ahead?
NCT ID NCT07581678
First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 120 adults having open heart surgery to see if an AI program could accurately judge whether nerve blocks were placed correctly. A computer and a doctor each rated ultrasound images of the blocks. The goal was to see if better block placement leads to less pain after surgery. The study did not test a new treatment, but rather gathered information to improve future pain management.
