NCT ID NCT05843994
First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study is creating an artificial intelligence (AI) app that can spot a type of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in people with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB), a rare blistering condition. SCC is the leading cause of death in adults with RDEB, and catching it early makes treatment easier. The app will analyze photos taken by patients at home to help detect cancer sooner. About 20 participants with RDEB and a history of SCC will submit their photos to train and test the AI.
