First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether harmful molecules called AGEs build up more in people with rheumatic diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis compared to healthy individuals. Researchers will use a non-invasive device that shines a light on the skin to measure AGE levels. The goal is to better understand how these molecules relate to inflammation and whether they could serve as a simple biomarker in the future. About 300 adults aged 18 to 75 will take part.
