New ACL repair: does age matter?

NCT ID NCT03348995

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing a new way to repair torn ACLs called the BEAR procedure, where a special implant and the patient's own blood are used to help the ligament heal naturally. Researchers want to see if younger or older patients have better results two years after surgery. About 250 people with recent ACL tears will take part, and their knee function and safety will be tracked.
