Mind over knee: can psychological readiness predict a safe return to sport after ACL surgery?
NCT ID NCT07733895
First seen Jul 29, 2026 · Last updated Jul 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This observational study follows athletes who had anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery, measuring their psychological readiness, fear of movement, and knee function at different points between 3 and 24 months after surgery. The goal is to see how these factors change over time and whether they relate to returning to sports. Participants fill out questionnaires about their mental readiness, fear of re-injury, and knee function. The study does not test any treatment but aims to improve understanding of recovery after ACL surgery.
