First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at anhedonia — the loss of interest or pleasure in activities — in 123 young people with depression. Participants underwent brain scans, blood tests, and behavioral tasks to measure symptoms. Some also tried treatments like brain stimulation (TMS), positive thinking exercises, or ketamine. The goal was to better understand anhedonia and find new ways to help people whose depression doesn't improve with standard treatments.
