First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding a drug called aprepitant to standard nausea prevention can help high-risk patients avoid vomiting and nausea after outpatient surgery. About 260 adults at high risk for postoperative sickness will take either aprepitant or a placebo before surgery. The goal is to see if this extra medicine improves comfort at home during the first 48 hours after the procedure.
