Smart brain stimulator tested to give Parkinson's patients more good hours

NCT ID NCT06909045

Summary

This study is testing whether an 'adaptive' deep brain stimulation system works better than the standard continuous system for people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers want to see if the adaptive system gives patients more daily hours of good movement control with fewer troublesome involuntary movements. The study will follow 130 participants who already have a specific type of brain stimulator implanted, comparing their experiences over six months.
