Finger-Pressure therapy trial offers hope for cancer drug side effects

NCT ID NCT06228768

Summary

This study tested whether self-administered acupressure could reduce joint pain and stiffness in postmenopausal breast cancer patients experiencing these side effects from their aromatase inhibitor medications. Fifty participants were randomly assigned to receive either real or sham acupressure techniques to compare pain relief over 12 weeks. Researchers also explored whether this finger-pressure therapy might affect other symptoms like fatigue, sleep, and even gut bacteria.
