First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study explores whether a 9-month online mind-body exercise program is practical and acceptable for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) living in Portugal and Spain. The program combines physical fitness, Pilates, Tai-Chi, mindfulness, and relaxation in small group sessions via video. Researchers will measure recruitment, attendance, satisfaction, and changes in quality of life to see if a larger trial is warranted.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Active and Mindful Program (online exercise, Pilates, Tai-Chi, mindfulness, relaxation)

What this could lead to

If successful, this program could offer a flexible, home-based option to improve physical and mental well-being for people with MS.

What could go wrong

This is a small feasibility study, not designed to prove effectiveness. Results may not apply to all people with MS, and adherence to the 9-month program may vary.
