First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to standard migraine medication could reduce monthly headache days in people with frequent migraines (9-14 days per month). 64 adults were randomly assigned to receive either medication alone or medication plus 6 weekly ACT group sessions and 2 booster sessions. The goal was to see if ACT helped lower headache frequency over 12 months.
