New pill hopes to fight multiple cancers when other treatments fail
NCT ID NCT07252661
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial tests an experimental drug called ACC-1898, taken as a daily pill, in adults with advanced solid tumors (like liver, kidney, or stomach cancer) that have not responded to standard treatments. The main goals are to find a safe dose and see how the body handles the drug. Researchers will also look for signs that the drug may slow or shrink tumors. About 40 people will take part, and treatment can continue for up to two years if the cancer does not get worse and side effects are manageable.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ACC-1898 (tyrosine kinase inhibitor)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for several advanced cancers that have stopped responding to other therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 1 trial with only 40 participants, so it is too soon to know if ACC-1898 is safe or effective. Side effects are possible, and the drug may not shrink tumors.
