Robot vs hand: can a machine match a Doctor's ultrasound for breast cancer surveillance?
NCT ID NCT05408260
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at whether an automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) can be used instead of a handheld ultrasound (HHUS) to screen for breast cancer in women who have had breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. Twelve women who had nipple-sparing or skin-sparing mastectomy with reconstruction took part. The goal was to see if ABUS detects leftover tissue as well as the standard handheld method.
