1,000 eyes for AI: new study aims to train computers to spot blinding disease

Summary
This study will collect eye images from 1,000 adults aged 50 and older, both healthy and with age-related macular degeneration (AMD), from up to 25 countries. The goal is to create a high-quality dataset that researchers can use to develop artificial intelligence (AI) tools for screening AMD. Participants will provide images of their eyes but will not receive any treatment as part of this study.
