New drug ABBV-722 put through interaction tests in healthy volunteers

NCT ID NCT07567781

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a new drug called ABBV-722 changes how the body processes several common medications. Twelve healthy adults will take ABBV-722 along with a 'cocktail' of other drugs (midazolam, digoxin, pitavastatin, metformin, and sitagliptin) to see if their levels in the blood are affected. The main goal is to check for side effects and measure drug concentrations, helping to guide future studies.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study will help doctors understand how ABBV-722 interacts with other medications, guiding safe dosing in future trials.

What could go wrong

This is a very early, small study in healthy volunteers, not patients. It only measures drug levels and safety, not whether ABBV-722 works for any disease.
