First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether a weekly injection of abatacept, given for 24 weeks, could stop mild juvenile arthritis from turning into a more severe form. It involved 121 children ages 2 to 16 with recent-onset arthritis in 4 or fewer joints. The goal was to see if the drug could prevent joint damage, eye inflammation, or the need for stronger medications.
