New PET scan could spot hidden inflammation earlier
NCT ID NCT06275477
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a new type of PET/CT scan that uses a special tracer to see if it can better detect and monitor chronic inflammatory and fibrotic diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, liver fibrosis, and lupus. About 390 adults with these conditions will get the scan to measure how well the tracer highlights inflamed or scarred tissue. The goal is to improve diagnosis and disease tracking without directly treating the condition.
